• Notification regarding the Alumnae Banquet (each June) and the annual meeting (each October)

• Receiving the Hartford Hospital Nursing Magazine.

• Membership -- Alumnae Bed Fund (click here for form).  The Alumnae Bed Fund, which was previously held and administered by Hartford Hospital, will now be solely under the control of the Alumnae Association.  The fund was transferred from Hartford Hospital to the Alumnae Association and is now invested and managed by Smith Barney Financial Planners.  This positive change increases the scope of the Bed Fund as it now can be used in any health care facility.  To utilize the Bed Fund, please follow the same procedure as previously -- notify Terry Gwozdz, Assistant Treasurer at 860-257-3171 or Pat Ciarcia, Executive Secretary at 860-563-2005.  If you are a member of the Bed Fund and are overwhelmed by your medical bills (hospital, doctors, prescriptions, dental, therapy, special equipment, optical/glasses, etc.), please contact Terry or Pat to see how the Alumnae can assist you.  "Don't hesitate...if you have a need...make the call."

The Barney Building opened in 1932.  It was part of the School of Nursing and featured a gymnasium, a swimming pool, classrooms and a library.
